I cannot delete emails on my iPad or iPhone. When I try to delete I get a pop up message that says ” Unable to move message. The message could not be moved to the mailbox trash.”

iCloud mailbox, cannot permanently delete
Hi, I created a mailbox to filter all messages from my contacts list into it. decided that it wasn’t a great plan as i missed emails when they went there on other devices, so decided to delete it. Deleted it fine, however everytime someone emails me from my contacts the mailbox reappears and messages appear there. it is driving me mad. i cannot find any solutions to this problem. anyone out there that has gone through this madness?

how to move mailbox from old pop acc to new imap acc?
hello everybody
I had a pop account but when i read an email on my mac i could read it on my phone or ipad so apple support suggested to ask my account provider to change the pop acc to imap and it seams to work
BUT
i must delete my pop acc and if so i will loose all oder mail that are saved on my mac ! how can i move old inbox to new account? Thank you!!

Mail flagged on OS X not showing in iOS mail’s flagged mailbox

Been digging around for this one. Maybe I am expecting a behavior that is not reasonable. All of my email accounts are IMAP
Laptop is El Capitan on 2015 rMBP
I flag mail on OS X and it works fine
iPhone is 5s with iOS 9.x.
I go to the flagged mail mailbox expecting to see the same mail flagged in OS X’s Mail.app but nothing is there.

lost mailbox folders after el captain upgrade
I have been trying to recover my >15 years messages, after the disaster caused by the El Captain upgrade. I had all my mail messages perfectly organized in folder in my Mail App (iMac 21”). All gone after “El Captain”. I have tryied re-indexing the messages, by deleting the envelope.indexes in V2/V3 MailData folders, and have also also checked/unchecked all accounts in the “Mail>Preferences>Accounts” folder. Nothing seems to work and for each re-indexing attempt I loose >3h of work. What is going on with Apple? We need a feedback and a fix for this problem! The “Captain” is lost and Apple is loosing credibility!

Outbox Renamed, Mail found an existing mailbox named …
Every time when I restart Mail, it force me to create sometime like ‘Delivered n’, n = 1,2,3 …
I have tried to remove ~/Library/Mail/V3, and ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
but problem persists.

Spam mailbox problem
Receiving advertising mails with my full name as header, and clicking on the from link gives my Contacts page with my full name. I have two iPads and an iMac. How and in what order do I change passwords and fix this, please?
I assume this is spam. My email was hacked recently and I changed Apple passwords and thought it was fixed.
I have two other mail accounts, one I have never accessed and a hotmail I have not used for,years so assume the mac mail is the problem.

Where did my mailbox folders go after El Capitan update
I updated to El Capitan last night and cannot find my mailbox folders. I am not asking about the folders that designate which server they came in on – these are custom folders I set up for each of my customers. The data is not lost – I can find it using the search and key name, but I would like my folders back so I can quickly go to that account for email history. Also how I like to archive my emails so my inbox is not constantly full.

Phantom unread email when mailbox is empty after 9.1
i updated to 9.1 as I was having issues on my iPhone 6 where my mailboxes were showing unread emails and nothing was there. The fixes in 9.1 included email solutions so I hurriedly did the update. Not 2 days later and hey! There’s the phantom missing unread email again! Anyone have any suggestions? I’ve deleted the account so many times and reinstalled it which helped for a few days then it shows unread emails again. I’ve checked my hotmail account on my laptop and the mailbox should be empty. Weirdly though, it’s not happening on my iPad which was also updated to 9.1. Any info, suggestions would be appreciated

how to create a new mailbox
I want to collect receipts from my inbox on my iPad to a new mailbox, called Receipts.
I tried following instructions but they don’t work.
I see a screen with Inbox, Outbox and Mailboxes: Drafts, Sent, Trash.
I tap Edit at top of screen. I get Mailboxes: Mailboxes: Drafts, Sent, Trash- but there is no way to add a mailbox; the only option is Done.
What to do.

Is it safe to delete a deleted users dovecot email mailbox?
I have an active mail server running on OS X server 4.1.3. I have a couple of problems that are concerning.
1) I deleted a user with a lot of email using server.app The user is gone now but the email folders in /Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail/users/username are still there. I expected server.app to clean things up. The reason I need to do this is to get some disk space back. The user concerned is no longer with the organisation concerned and had a lot of email.
Can I just ‘sudo rm -rf /Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail/users/username and be done with it?
2) My /tmp is also filling up with odd files with names like uid=2371&where=body&rand=fcd7a8d041305ad6 owned by _dovecot
I’d like to understand what they are but I would also like to delete them. dovecot has the variable mail_temp_dir set to /tmp.
It is a mystery to me where to fine adequate documentation on OS X Server and mail. Help and pointers welcome.

Error Message – Could not be moved to the mailbox "(null)"
The archive button in macmail will not let me archive an email using one of my IMAP accounts, making me think I accidentally deleted an Archive folder during setup. I get the following error message. The message [subject] could not be moved to the mailbox “(null)”. The destination mailbox does not exist.
Each of my email accounts have an archive folder, except for my work account (Tecsg) which has a circle icon instead of the Archive box icon.
Any tips on how to fix this?

Need an applescript to move entire mailbox folder to a subfolder
As I need to be very organized, I have a mail folder for every client I work or have worked for in the past.
From time to time I need to archive some client mail folders into a “Solved” folder. I tried the following script, but it does not work:
display dialog “Please indicate destination folder” default answer “Solved”
set theName to (text returned of result)
set Caixa to theName
tell application “Mail”
move selected mailboxes of message viewer 1 to {mailbox Caixa of account “fladv.com.br”}

Applescript returns with the following error:
