I can not delete emails on my iPhone or iPad.  I get a message that says "unable to move message to the mailbox trash."

I cannot delete emails on my iPad or iPhone.  When I try to delete I get a pop up message that says ” Unable to move message.  The message could not be moved to the mailbox trash.”

Please help!
